Jammu, Police on Sunday arrested two persons with a country-made pistol in the Bishnah area here on the city outskirts.
Police said that a surprise checkpoint was established on Ring Road and during a routine check, two individuals on a motorcycle coming from Vijaypur side, attempted to escape the checkpoint.
Despite their attempt, they were overpowered by police, and during their search, one country-made pistol along with one live round was recovered from them.
The arrested persons were identified as Rahul Dev of Khour Salaria, Ramgarh, and Ravinder Kumar of Rehal Kalandiran, Tehsil Bishnah.
A case under relevant sections was registered and an investigation stated.
