NC & PDP were part of BJP government earlier : Azad

Srinagar,  Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP) Chairman Ghulam Nabi Azad on Wednesday said National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party were previously part of BJP government and should not accuse others of being the proxies of the saffron party.

Azad was talking to reporters on Wednesday during a road show at Malpora in south Kashmir’s Anantnag District where he was campaigning for his party’s candidate from Anantnag-Rajouri Parliament seat Mohammad Saleem.

He said Omar Abdullah was minister in the BJP government and Mehbooba was Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir running a coalition government with them.

“I respect both of them but never called them A or B teams of BJP,” the DPAP Chairman remarked.

“I never had been the Member Parliament of BJP nor the Union Minister, neither Chief Minister. Now these people have to decide who were in BJP and who were its A B C teams,” he added.

On Tuesday, NC president Farooq Abdullah had appealed Ghulam Nabi Azad, Sajad Lone, and Altaf Bukhari to reconsider supporting BJP.

Replying to a question, Azad said that ‘Ghulam Nabi Azad was Azad (free), is Azad and will remain Azad and not anybody’s servant.’
