Jammu celebrates Maha Shivratri with religious fervour

JAMMU : Amid the chants of Har Har Mahadev, the Mahashivratri festival celebrated with religious fervour in the city of temples and winter capital Jammu on Friday.

Since the very first light of today, devotees including women, children thronged Shiv Temples to pay obeisance Him and perform special pooja by offering the water, milk, curd, honey, flowers and others devotees performed pooja with religious enthusiasm.

On the occasion devotee’s long queues were seen at Shri Ranbireshwar Ji Temple which is situated at the heart of the city.

All the required arrangements have made at Shri Ranbireshwar Ji Temple as its front portion was collapsed on 17 Oct, 2023.

Temples also witnessed the Jangam, band and  dance.  The temple was decorated with colourful flowers, cloths and fruits.

Others famous temples of Jammu region including Purmandal Samba, Shiv Khori Reasi, Peer Khoo Temple, Aap Shambu Temple witnessed huge devotes gathering.

Various special langars were also organized by religious bodies across the Jammu city.

Security arrangements were made for smooth and incident free celebrations of MahaShivratri festival.

Meanwhile the Jammu Tourism in collaboration with JKAACL and district administration Jammu, Samba and Reasi has organised the MahaShivratri festival as Mahostav with vibrant festivities.
