INDIA Bloc is united: Farooq

Jammu, Former Chief Minister and National Conference President Dr Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday said that the INDIA Bloc is united and will fight to safeguard the constitution and democracy of the country.

“There is no dispute in INDIA Bloc and all are united whether it is Farooq, Omar, or Mehbooba,” Abdullah here told reporters.

Abdullah was here in the town to support the Congress candidate Raman Bhalla who filed his nomination papers on Tuesday for the Jammu Lok Sabha seat.

Bhalla was accompanied by Bharat Singh Solanki, the AICC’s Jammu and Kashmir in-charge, and Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Vikar Rasool Wani, who took part in a roadshow before filing the papers.

“India Bloc was formed to safeguard the Constitution of Dr. B R Ambedkar,” he added.

“We are hopeful that the people of India will support them (INDIA Bloc) in the Lok Sabha elections,” he said.

Abdullah, however, alleged that BJP wants to replicate Russia and China-like rule in the country.

The Jammu Parliamentary constituency will go to the polls in the second phase on April 26.
