As per handout issued by the J&K Sports Council Welfare Association, the members in a meeting held threadbare deliberations to address the prolonged delay in pension release, spanning several years.

In a unanimous decision, the members appealed to the Lieutenant Governor for personal intervention in resolving the longstanding issue, which impacts the livelihoods of retired employees.

The members showcased their commitment while urging the government to expedite pension disbursements for Sports Council employees, aligning with similar organizations that have already granted pensionary benefits.

The former employees discussed recurring queries raised by relevant departments, emphasising the necessity for decisive action to ensure the social security of Sports Council employees.

The withholding of Complementary Stadium allotments for personal gain by individuals was also discussed, causing significant losses in Sports Council’s international resources allocated for granting various benefits, read the handout.
