NAGROTA: National Conference Provincial President Devender Singh Rana today asserted that there can’t be any compromise with Jammu aspirations, saying that the self-respecting people can never forgive those, who have hurt their pride and interests.
“The region has suffered the most due to misadventure and self-centric approach of the self-styled Messiahs of the Jammu cause” the Provincial President said and slammed the BJP for taking the people for granted and ignoring their urges.
Continuing the campaign in favour National Conference candidates for District Development Council elections Somnath Khajuria and Shameem Begum, respectively from Nagrota and Dansal seats, Rana lashed out at the BJP for disrespecting Jammu’s spirit of sacrifice and character of assimilation by subjecting them to total neglect and deprivation. He said the BJP undermined the sensitivities of the region and did nothing during the past six years, especially after getting an overwhelming mandate across the region. This should have made them more responsive and supportive but the things panned out differently with the people suffering on all fronts and the youth finding themselves pushed to the wall, he added.
“It’s high time for the BJP to apologise to the people for their betrayal”, Rana said while advising the party to publicly owe responsibility for the mess created over the years as a result of which the people suffered hugely on all fronts. He said Jammu development has remained a far cry, confined to papers only, given the obtaining conditions on ground zero.
The Provincial President referred to the growing sense of alienation by the people of Jammu, saying this could snowball in frustration and dejection if corrective measures are not undertaken at earnest. He said Jammu needs a healing balm on political, economic and development fronts which will generate a sense of confidence among the people who feel relegated to the status of nothingness. “This can be achieved by National Conference alone, which believes in unity in diversity of Jammu and Kashmir with equal opportunities of progress, development and jobs to all, irrespective of caste, creed, colour, region and religion”, he said and urged the people to vote and support the party candidates with massive mandate in the ongoing elections.
Rana addressed the people at at Nagrota, Kanyala, Chalad, Kathar and Kishanpur.
During the public interactions, Sarpanch Krishanpur Rumal Singh extended his support to NC Candidate from DDC Dansal.
Earlier the Provincial President inaugurated NC office at Dansal in presence of DDC Candidate from Dansal Shameem Begum.
