Wisdom Evento Sports to organize two-day cycling MTB event in Leh from Sept 21

LEH: Wisdom Evento Sports in collaboration with Cycling Federation of India (CFI) is organizing a two-day Cycling MTB event in Leh, with the title ‘North Quest Challenge, Ladakh XCM’, ‘The World’s Highest MTB XCM’ from 21st September, 2019. This was informed by the organizers during a press conference held at Abduz Hotel.
During the media briefing it was told that the Stage-1 of the event will be held tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. starting from Spituk – Ugling road near Hotel Dewachan. Similarly, the Stage-2 will be held on 22nd September starting from Shanti Stupa Gate from 8 a.m. onwards. The event category includes Elite Series (90km, timed) for cyclists invited by CFI, Adventure series (50km, non-timed) and Extreme series (75km timed). An initiative branded ‘Trailblazers’ has also been introduced, a 25km race for local children which validates the premise of the event to develop the sport of mountain biking at the grass root level by providing a platform for talented rider.
This is the third edition of the cycling event organised by Wisdom Evento Sport under the aegis of the CFI and is co promoted by Meraki Sport & Entertainment. This year the total prize money is Rs. 5 lakh. The winners will get the opportunity to train at the UCI WCC satellite facility in New Delhi furthering their chances of turning into professional cyclist, the organizers said.
Rohit Sharma, MTB National Elite Commissure (CFI), Raj Kumar Rao, Ambassador for the event, Stani Wangchuk, Founder & Promoter of NorthQuest Challenge & Wisdom Evento Sport, Harkirat Singh, Organiser WES, Jaymin Shah, Country Manager SCOTT Sport India and Ajit Ravindran, MD & Co-founder of Meraki Sport & Entertainment were present during the press conference.
