War-like stores recovered by Army near LoC in north Kashmir’s Uri

Srinagar: Army troops near the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir district of Baramulla recovered war-like stores, including automatic weapons, being transported to hinterland for militants, a Defence ministry spokesperson here said.
He said on a tip-off on late Wednesday evening, regarding weapon drop along the LoC, a search operation was launched in Hathlanga of Rampur sector at Uri in Baramulla district.
During the operation, a weapon cache was discovered, which included one AK 47 Rifle, five Chinese pistol with magazines, 24 grenades and other war-like stores.
He said the arms and ammunition were new and all markings had been erased. They were likely to have been trans-shipped from across the LoC for further transport to hinterland for the militants, he added.
