Two Narcotic smugglers nabbed; Heroin, Charas seized

RAMBAN/POONCH: Two narcotic smugglers have been arrested while heroin and Charas been recovered from their possession in Banihal and Mendhar areas of Jammu region today.
Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, District Police Ramban succeeded in arresting a drug peddler and recovering 500 grams of Heroin from his possession.
Reports said that on specific information, a special Naka was laid at T Chowk-Banihal and checking and frisking was intensified. During checking, one pedestrian coming from Railway Station Banihal towards town was put to thorough checking and 500 grams Heroin was recovered.
On questioning the pedestrian disclosed his identity as Amin Mohd S/O Rashid Ahmed R/O Krimchi Tehsil and district Udhampur.
Accordingly, case FIR NO. 86/2019 U/S 8/21/NDPS Act stands registered at PS Banihal and investigation taken up. During preliminary investigation, the said accused disclosed that he had bought the consignment from Kashmir area and was meant for selling to the youth of Banihal/Jammu.
Meanwhile, Police also recovered 500 grams Charas concealed in 44 Challis from a vehicle at Sanagala Chowk in Mendhar area of Poonch district and arrested a smuggler.
Police Party of PS Mendhar apprehended a person during naka checking at Sanagala Chowk and recovered 500 grams approx of charas (44 challis) from his vehicle bearing registration number JK21 A-4907. The narcotic smuggler identified as Raza Ahamad s/o Abdul Hamid r/o Malikpur has been arrested and case FIR No. 99/2019 u/s 8/15/21 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Mendhar.
