Two bootleggers arrested, illicit liquor recovered in Srinagar

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested two bootleggers and recovered illicit liquor in the uptown Srinagar on Wednesday, a police spokesman said this evening.
He said during a naka checking at Rambagh chowk a three wheeler suspiciously tried to evade the naka party. However, the three was chased by a police party and was intercepted at a distance.
During the search of the three wheeler police recovered 26 bottles of illicit liquor, he said.
The bootlegger were identified as Firdous Ahmad Kuchay and Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, residents of Humhama Badgam.
He said in this regard case FIR number 232/2020 Under Section 48 Excise Act has been registered in police station Saddar.
