Teachers’ Day celebrated at SKUAST-Jammu

JAMMU: Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu today celebrated Teacher’s Day with eminent exultation at Baba Jitto Auditorium, SKUAST-J Chatha.
Prof. Bechan Lal, Vice-Chancellor, Cluster University Jammu was the chief guest on the occasion, while Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, Professor, J.P. Sharma was guest of honour.
The event was commenced with lighting of the traditional lamp followed by Saraswati Vandana.
Prof. Bechan Lal, chief guest on the occasion delivered an expert lecture. He fondly remembered the contribution of 4th Vice-Chancellor of Banaras Hindu University and 2nd President of India, Sir Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan and on whose birthday Teachers’ Day is being celebrated throughout India. He said that teacher is a guide, who instils confidence in young minds, gives them direction and encourages them to dream. He reiterated that in today’s era knowledge is a key to success.
Vice-Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, Professor, J.P. Sharma said that our teachers are the true pillars of our success. They nourish and prepare students for their future as they are the real icon of knowledge and wisdom. He explained the transformative role of a teacher in a student’s life. He urged that teachers should instil values, ethics and quality life skills among students.
