Staying home is mantra to fight Covid-19: J&K sports fraternity

Jammu: While appeals and requests are pouring in from all parts of the world asking people to ‘Stay Home & Stay Safe’, the sports fraternity, including players, coaches, officials, sports promoters in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, has also appealed to the people asserting that staying home is the only ‘mantra’ to collectively fight the pandemic.
The fraternity also suggested that staying physically and mentally fit is must but important factor is to stay indoors.
Former Ranji Trophy player and BCCI member, Ranjit Kalra said, ”The situation we are passing through is a very critical but it shall pass on. We all have to fight collectively.”
”As Indians, we celebrate many festivals with harmony irrespective of religion, caste, colour and creed. Similarly at this moment, we have to stay united to deal the present situation,” said the sports promoter and added, ”this is the time to show our unity for the country, its people, our families, friends, relatives.”
”Let us maintain social distancing to socialise in future,” he said and added that presently, alertness and sensibility, can save generations to come.
Mr Kalra also initiated in making people aware about the cause by appealing sports fraternity to share their videos on social media and spread a message of COVID19.
The sportspersons, coaches and sports promoters however, have requested to people to adhere to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal to win over the situation.
Mr Kalra expressed gratitude to the fraternity for their response and cooperation.
The videos are being circulated by people in which, the sports experts are guiding them on how to stay fit and adopt fitness rules by staying indoors.
Chief Coach Basketball (SAI), Aman Sharma said, ”just as a batsman ducks a sharp bouncer and a boxer ducks a powerful punch, it’s time to sensibly duck the deadly Corona by simply staying in the cozy serenity of our homes and let it pass by”.
”It is out.. desperately looking for a human body to survive. Don’t offer it yours. Stay Home, Stay Safe, Stay Fit,” said the coach.
