Sikhs to welcome ‘Nagar Kirtan’ in Jammu on Aug 4

Jammu: Sikh United Front, J&K on Thursday said that the Sikhs will be welcoming ‘Nagar Kirtan’ reaching to Jammu on August 4.
Sudershan Singh Wazir, Chairman, Sikh United Front, J&K here told reporters that various Sikh religious bodies will welcome the ‘Nagar Kirtan’ and it is an occasion of great religious importance that the Nagar Kirtan which has started from Nankana Sahib, birth place of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji on August 1, will be entering J&K on August 4 on the occasion of 550th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Sri Guru Nanak Dev.
Wazir further elaborated that the present living generation is truly blessed as it is during their lifetime that 550th birth anniversary of Baba Nanak is being celebrated and they should whole heartedly submit themselves to the Sikh philosophy espoused by the first guru.
Wazir expressed gratitude on behalf of all the Sikh organisation to Mahant Manjeet Singh of Shiromani Dera Nangali Sahab, Poonch for leading the religious celebrations in the state throughout the year till the month of November.
