Sikh Community lauds MP Manish Tiwari’s concern over Punjabi Language

JAMMU: An emergency meeting of various Sikh Organizations in J&K was held under the chairmanship of Sudershan Singh Wazir, Chairman Sikh United Front; an amalgam of various Sikh organizations wherein they welcomed the voice raised by Member Parliament (MP), Manish Tiwari in Rajay Sabha for inclusion of Punjabi Language as official language in J&K UT.
While addressing the meeting Sudarshan Singh Wazir showed anguish over the step motherly treatment of Union Government with the Punjabi speaking people of J&K by keeping Punjabi language out of official languages list.
The Union Government declared English, Urdu, Hindi, Kashmiri and Dogri as official languages and Punjabi has been kept out of the official languages.
The Govt. on one hand announced New Education Policy and moreover the Jammu Kashmir Sikh United Front appealed to all the Punjabi loving people of Jammu and Kashmir to quit the BJP party and resign from their respective posts including MLAs, MLCs, Cooperators, Sarpanchs, Panchs and holding any post of any executive body in BJP party.’
It is also decided that if the Punjabi language was not included as official language, they shall do their level best to keep BJP out of the Govt.
Members, leaders and Organizations who participated in the meeting and raised their voice included Dayal Singh Wazir Chairman Shiromnani Akalsi Dal J&K, Darbinder Singh President Shiromani Akali Dal, Mohinder Singh Chief Organizer Kaniya Nishkam Sewa Society and Ex Member DGPC Jammu Rajinder Singh General Secretary Shiromani Akali Dal, Raja Singh Sarpanch member DGPC Jammu, Ravinder Singh Sarpanch and General Secretary, Charanjeet Singh, Prof. Yudhvir Singh Corporator, Gajan Singh President J&K Motor Transport Company Association, Charanjeet Singh Bali Convenor Kashmir Province, Rasbir Singh, Kuldeep Singh Malik, Kulwant Singh, Kultar Singh and Tejpal Singh.
