New Delhi: Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh on Wednesday endorsed Prime Minister Narendra Modi, saying Supreme Court’s decision on the construction of the temple on Shri Ram Janmabhoomi site should be accepted with ‘open mind’.
‘In the coming days, the Supreme Court’s decision on the construction of the temple on Shri Ram Janmabhoomi is expected. Whatever the decision, it should accept it with an open mind,’ the RSS said on twitter.
RSS ‘ Akhil Bharatiya Prachar Pramukh Arun Kumar said it is the responsibility of everyone that the atmosphere throughout the country remains cordial. The subject is also being discussed in the meeting of key RSS functionaries, he informed.

‘From March 30 to November 5, a two-day meeting with the pracharaks was already scheduled in Haridwar . he pracharak section has been postponed due to some important reasons,’ he said.

But the meeting is now being held in Delhi instead of Haridwar, he added.
In his Mann Ki Baat radio broadcast on Sunday, Prime Minister Modi recalled the situation in 2010 and has said some people had tried to generate tension before the Allahabad high court verdict (on September 30, 2010) by making irresponsible statements, but once the court’s order came, the government, political parties and civil society showed restrains and prevented attempts to create fissures.

“….Tanav ka mahol nahi ban na dene chahiye (We should not allow tension to build up when such situations come),” the Prime Minister has said.
Mr Modi’s remarks and now the RSS taking a similar stance have special significance as the Supreme Court verdict on the dispute in Ayodhya is expected in November.
The five-judge Constitution bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi on October 16 reserved its judgment, after a marathon 40-day hearing in the case and is expected to deliver the verdict in November.
Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi retires on November 17.
