CHENANI: Secretary Higher Education Department Talat Parvez Rohella inaugurated the commencement of formal class work at Govt. Degree College Neeli Nallah today. The formal welcome was conducted by Prof Kamal Kishore (GDC, Boys, Udhampur) by presenting the chief guest with bouquet and by planting a tree.
Speaking on the occasion, Rohella asked the students to focus on their career development and grooming by seeking assistance from numerous online courses and other imperative sources. He portrayed the magnificence of knowledge and education to the students and promised them that the college premises would be fully developed and operational in the new building within coming years. He also interacted with the local people of the adjoining areas and thanked them for their assistance. He emphasized on the education of the skill enhancement courses in the college and the students’ interest with the skill courses. He appreciated and thanked Nodal Officer of GDC Neeli Nallah Dr. N.K Resutra for exhibiting extraordinary performance besides the faculty members of GDC (Boys), Udhampur, who had contributed day and night towards the opening up of the college and making it operational.
Dignitaries present on the occasion were Prof R.K Ganjoo, Director, CDC, Prof S.P Saraswat (Nodal Principal Jammu), Prof Subash Sharma (Principal, GCW, Udhampur) and Dr. Bhavnaish Chand (officiating Principal GDC Udhampur). The formal vote of thanks was extended by Prof Suresh Kumar Dogra.
Meanwhile, Government Degree College Chenani was also inaugurated by Talat Parvez Rohella in the presence of Prof. R. K. Ganjoo, Director, College Development Council, University of Jammu, Dr. Udhey Bhanu, Incharge Principal, Govt. Degree College Chenani, Dr. Bhavnaish Chand, SDM Chenani, Sh. Abdul Sattar and others. The college will presently run in a newly constructed Girl’s Hostel Building.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary to Higher Education Parvez Rohella said that he had personal ties with Chenani and it was a very joyous occasion for him that Degree College Chenani was being inaugurated. He said that he hoped to see Degree College Chenani as a premier institution of Higher Education in the state, and for that purpose, he suggested Dr. Udhey Bhanu, Incharge Principal GDC Chenani, to initiate the process of starting Skill and Vocational Based courses for the students.
He praised Nodal Officer, GDC Chenani Dr. N.K Resutra and associated staff for excellent coordination in bringing this project to life.
