Retrospective 2019: Supreme Court landmarks

New Delhi: As 2019 faded into 2020, the Supreme Court pronounced many landmark judgements Ayodhya, Rafale, Sabarimala, among these.
A five-judge Constitution bench, headed by the then Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi, said that the 2.77 acre disputed land at Ayodhya belonged to Hindus and ordered that an five acre land will have to be given to the Muslim side somewhere else.
Apex Court also pronounced the Rafale review petitions and said that there is no need to go for an Special Investigation Team to review the agreement between India and France.
There are serious allegations of corruption against the deal by many, including Prashant Bhushan, Yashwant Sinha, Arun Shourie and lawyers Manohar Lal Sharma and AAP MP Sanjay Singh.
The Supreme Court this year also saw sexual allegations levelled by a former SC staffer, against the former CJI Gogoi, who was later cleared by a committee.
