Rajya Sabha adjourned twice amid noisy scenes by Opposition

New Delhi: Amid noisy scenes created hy the Opposition over Pegasus spyware and I_T raids on the Dainik Bhaskar Newspaper Group, the proceedings in the Upper House(Rajya Sabha) had to be adjourned twice on Thursday.
As soon as the House assembled for the day at 11 am, Congress leader Digvijay Singh attempt to raise the Pegasus issue as well as income tax rids on the Dainik Bhaskar newspaper group and Opposition members including Congress, TMC, Akali Dal and several other parties rushed into the well of the House wielding placards against the government.

Repeated requests from the Chair to give notice on the issue to be raised and go back to their seat went unheeded and the House was adjourned till 12 noon.

When the house assembled t 12 noon again, the scene was no different and the efforts by the Chair to pacify the agitating members proved futile. Consequently, the house was adjourned once more till 2 pm.
