Prez, Vice-Prez, PM appreciate thanksgiving gesture of Armed Forces for Covid frontline warriors

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice-President M Venkaiah Naidu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday appreciate the gesture of armed forces to express the country’s gratitude towards all frontline warriors leading the fight against Covid-19.
‘Appreciate the gesture of our armed forces to express the country’s gratitude towards all frontline warriors leading the fight against COVID-19. The nation stands united, as all of us reiterate our resolve to defeat corona virus through our collective determination and discipline,’ the President, who is also of thew Supreme Commander of Armed Forces, said in his tweet.
Mr Naidu welcomed the gesture of armed forces in conducting flypasts and playing military bands in front of hospitals as a tribute to sacrifices and selfless service of frontline CoronaWarriors such as doctors, nurses, policemen, government officials, media, sanitation workers and others.
Prime Minister Modi wrote, ‘Saluting those who are at the forefront, bravely fighting COVID-19. Great gesture by our armed forces.’
As the number of Novel Coronavirus confirmed cases reached 39,980 in the country, the armed forces, who have been entrusted with the security of people in the country, played ‘Thanksgiving’ host to a different line of soldiers, who were stepping out of their homes, braving all odds, in the battle against Novel Coronavirus.
The President, the Vice-President and the Prime Minister also paid tributes to the brave soldiers and security personnel martyred in Handwara in Jammu and Kashmir.
‘A grateful nation will always remember their supreme sacrifice. The entire country stands united in the fight against the forces of terror and evil. Thoughts and prayers with the families of martyrs,’ the President said.
