Prez, V-P condole deaths of patients in AP Covid Care centre

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind and Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu on Sunday expressed grief at the death of many patients in a blaze that broke out in a Covid-19 care facility in Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.
Reacting to the news, the President said he was “struck with grief after hearing the tragic news about Covid-19 care centre in Vijayawada where an accidental fire caused loss of lives. My thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved families. I wish speedy recovery for the injured.”
In a message, Naidu said: “Extremely anguished by the loss of lives in a Covid care centre at Vijayawada following a fire mishap.”
He offered his condolences to bereaved families and prayed for a speedy recovery of the injured.
Seven Coronavirus patients were killed and three others seriously injured when a fire broke out in a Covid-19 Care Centre located in Swarna Palace hotel located in Eluru road in the heart of the city on Sunday.
