President’s rule revoked in Maharashtra

New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind on Saturday morning revoked President’s rule, implemented in the state of Maharashtra since November 12.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (2) of article 356 of the Constitution, I, Ram Nath Kovind, President of India hereby revoke the Proclamation issued by me under the said article on the 12th day of November, 2019, in relation to the State of Maharashtra with effect from the 23rdday of November, 2019.” the gazette notification read.
The announcement came shortly after Bhartiya Janata Party’s Devendra Fadnavis took oath as the 19th Chief Minister of the state for a second term on Saturday morning while National Conference Party’s Ajit Pawar was sworn in as Deputy CM by Governor B.S. Koshyari in raj Bhawan at around 0800 hrs.
