JAMMU

A joint meeting was held by Pradesh Congress Committee Migrant cell and Jagti Tenement
committee Jagti Nagrota under the leadership of Sh. Shadi Lal Pandita, Co-convenor, PCC Migrant cell and President JTC/Soan Kashmir Front, J&K.
During the course of meeting Sh. Shadi Lal Pandita has said that for last more than four years , the BJP lead government in Centre has failed to redress the problems of the Migrant community as the commitments made by the leaders of BJP during past elections have not been fulfilled.
Sh. Pandita has said that though Ration cards have been issued to the Migrant beneficiaries
under employees and pensioner category but it is surprising that only 4 Kg ration is being supplied against each Ration card which does not meet the domestic needs of these migrant families which has put the migrants to lot of sufferings. He has said that this meager quantity too is not being supplied regularly and timely which has further added to the sufferings of the migrants. He has further said that Relief holder families too are not being supplied ration timely which has made these relief holders unable to meet their domestic needs.
Sh. Pandita has said that though the then Honorable Prime Minister of India, Dr. Manmohan Singh had announced employment package of 6000 posts for Kashmiri Pandit migrant educated youth out of which only three thousands posts have been filled while as remaining 3000 posts under this employment package are still to be filled and the government has not taken any initiative to ensure implementation of this employment package in letter and spirit which has put the educated youth to lot of sufferings due to unemployment when most of the educated youth have attained over age limits
and have been rendered unable to seek employment.
Mr. Pandita has said that the BJP had assured for permanent rehabilitation of the Kashmiri
Pandit community in Kashmir valley but it is surprising that despite lapse of more than four years ,nothing has been done in this regard with the result the community is still living in exile.
The Government has totally failed to fulfill the genuine demands of the community in respect of release of balance Ex-gratia relief sanctioned on account of damages/ gutted of Migrant properties in Kashmir valley. Compensation on account of property losses suffered by the community, removal of encroachments of private properties of the Migrants in Kashmir valley as well as removal of encroachments from Religious places and shrines in Kashmir valley.
Sh. Pandita has said that present government in centre has deceived the general masses of
the country in general and the Migrant Pandit community in particular.
