Police bust gang of pick-pocketers in Baramulla

Baramulla: Jammu and Kashmir police busted a gang of pick pocketers in apple township of Sopore in this north Kashmir district, a police spokesman said on Monday.
He said several reports were received about pickpocketing at busy public places in apple township of Sopore.
A special team was constituted after two cases were registered recently.
Later, three suspected persons identified as Nisar Ahmad Mathanji, resident of Ashhtangoo Bandipora, Danish Manzoor Ganie resident of Putkha Muqaaam, Waseem Ahmad Sofi resident of Seer Jagir Sopore were picked up for questioning.
He said during sustained interrogation that the accused confessed their crime which lead to the recovery of stolen property.
He said Mathanji had earlier been arrested for his involvement in theft and burglary cases.
He said the general public and civil society members of Sopore have hailed the efforts of Sopore Police in solving the pick pocketing cases.
