PM launches financing of 28 projects worth Rs 11.5 K crore as part of Agri infra

New Delhi: To empower farmers through the use of modern techniques and technology, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched the financing of 28 projects worth Rs 11.5 thousand crore as part of Agri infrastructure and released the next instalment of Kisan Samman Nidhi for 8.5 Crore farmers.
Modi launched the Fund to provide debt financing facility for post-harvest management infrastructure and community farming assets.
On the auspicious occasion of the birth anniversary of Lashti and Lord Balaram, a special fund of Rs one lakh crore has been launched to prepare agricultural facilities in the country, he said.
Modi said the Agriculture Infrastructure Fund launched today will enable farmers to build warehouses for stocking their produces.
This will help in creating better storage and modern cold storage chains in villages, he added.
‘Along with this, Rs 17 thousand crore have been transferred in the form of PM Kisan Samman Nidhi to the account of 8.5 crore farmer families,’ he said.
It promotes Food Processing Organisations to build cold storage and warehouses for storing the farming produce and will help them with Rs 1 lakh crore. he pointed out.
