People worried, announce vaccination prog, Soz to UT Govt

Srinagar: Former Union minister and senior Congress leader Prof Saifuddin Soz on Monday said that Union Territory (UT) government was silent over providing COVID-19 vaccine in Jammu and Kashmir.
People are worried, Prof Soz said in a statement here this afternoon.
He said the UT Administration is silent on how Covid-19 vaccine will be provided to the people Jammu and Kashmir.
The people are, therefore, genuinely worried as to how the distribution will take place, he said.
Prof Soz said the old practice in this respect has been that any vaccination in the past was provided by Medical Teams Mohalla-wise. The teams would arrive in Mohallas and render the service. This is what happened in respect of vaccines for the treatment of measles and small pox.
“I hope that very practice would be adopted for providing Covid-19 vaccine. That is the only way overcrowding and hassle at hospitals would be avoided”, he said.
Prof Soz demanded that the government announce its policy immediately so that people stop worrying about provision of this facility. That way alone people can provide their opinions also.
This is all the more necessary because of snow in Kashmir and parts of Jammu province, he said, adding that sooner the J&K UT Administration announces its policy, the better
