NIA Court grants seven days police custody of 2 arrested in Pulwama attack

Jammu: The National Investigation Agency Court on Saturday granted seven days police custody of two persons arrested on Friday for their alleged role in the 2019 Pulwama attack in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed.
They were produced before NIA Court for seeking remand.
Special Judge NIA Subash C Gupta after gone through the remand application granted seven days police remand of Waiz ul Islam and Mohammad Abbas Rather.
Special Judge NIA observed that keeping in view the facts and the circumstances of the case, gravity and heinousness of the crime as involved in the present matter, submissions made by the NIA and the stage of the investigation of the case, the court is of the considered view that the custodial interrogation of the accused is imperative to facilitate the ongoing investigation and to take it to logical conclusion and ordered that the accused are remanded to police custody for seven days.
