Namgyal continues Nubra tour, stresses for promoting tourism sector in rural areas

LEH: Member Parliament Ladakh Jamyang Tsering Namgyal continuing his tour in Nubra Sub-Division visited the villages of Panamik, Phukpoche, Hargam, Taksha, Samoma, Changlung, Henache and Tongstat.
During his visit to various villages, MP Ladakh interacted with the people and discussed their major and minor issues. Keeping in view of sufficient water resources and good climatic conditions for Agriculture in the Siachen belt MP Namgyal stressed the implementation of the Mission Organic Development Initiative (MODI) scheme at their respective villages. He further stressed promoting the tourism sector in rural areas which will ultimately boost the economy and generate employment.
A number of demands were submitted by the BDC Chairpersons and village heads at various villages which mainly included separate district status for Nubra, installation of the mobile tower at various villages, central residential school at Panamik, drinking water facility, construction of river bund, repair and renovation of irrigation khul, blacktopping on the different link road, maintenance of roads and set up of medical aids centre.
