Harish Babbar is a Jammu-based budding singer with a passion for music. It was during his school days that he realized that music was more than just a hobby for him.
“I used to sing as a child but could not perform in front of people as I was shy. I was in Class 9 when my friend proposed my name for the annual day function and I ended up performing on stage. After that very performance, my teachers and classmates started praising me. That’s when I felt for the first time that music could be more than a hobby,” Harish revealed.
Harish has neither studied music nor has been trained by any teacher. All that he knows about music is self-taught by watching musical videos and listening to songs.
He is also a self-trained guitarist and played the guitar in the first medley that was uploaded on June 24 under our ‘Music for the Soul’ initiative. He is an ardent fan of Kishore Kumar, Lata Mangeshkar, Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan and Sonu Nigam. A Sufi lover, he loves listening to Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan Sahab.
He understands the competition involved in music in the contemporary times and is aware that it is very tough to afford a good lifestyle if you pursue music full time. So, he wants to keep his options open and see what the future has in store for him. If a good opportunity does come along, he would love to follow it up.
Budding singer and music enthusiast, he wishes to study music in future and says that music will always remain a part of his life.
