Mushtaq takes lead in representing J&K in first digital online theatre festival

JAMMU: Mushtaq Kak, the versatile theatre and film personality of Jammu and Kashmir and widely acclaimed dramatist around the world, was chosen as the first pioneer of the UT for executing first digital online theatre festival
Mushtaq Kak, Director and a prominent Bollywood actor, undertook the historical anecdote of ‘Ladi Shah’, a performing folk art of Kashmir to be presented at the digital platform released Pan India.
The beauty of his construction of the show was that he engaged writer and performer Ashraf Nagoo from Kashmir for live performance while he directed the show from Jammu to be showcased at the festival.
Being first of its kind under the lockdown in COVID 19 pandemic, the show organized digitally by Mushtaq Kak on the national platform including both the regions of Jammu and Kashmir was highly acclaimed and appreciated for bringing an out of box solution for the viewers across.
His efforts in maintaining a tempo of theatrical shows under the present trying conditions were acknowledged by all section of art critics and lovers.
Recently he was conferred with Best Director Award at 12th Natsmarat Theatre Awards. Mushtaq has spent 10 long years at Shri Rram Centre as a director.
He has also been regular observer, judge and coordinator of various national theatre festivals held in past in different states of the country and is one of the leading Indian theatrist whose three plays were screened and witnessed by representatives of 80 countries in Global Culture Summit at Abu Dhabi held in 2017.
He was also one of the eminent members of screening committee of Theatre Olympiad 8, an international theatre festival organized by Culture Department, Government of India and National School of Drama.
