Mahila Congress workers protest against price hike

SAMBA: Intensifying campaign against unprecedented hike in the prices of essential commodities, Mahila Congress on Monday organized a massive demonstration at Samba against BJP led government at the Centre.
The protest demonstration held under the leadership of Pradesh Mahila Congress president and Ex-MLA Indu Pawar was organized by Mahila Distt. President Champa Devi.
Hundreds of Mahila Congress workers participated in the protest demonstration and shouted slogans against BJP government for its anti-people policies to serve interest of corporate world.
Shouting slogans against the anti-people policies of the central government, Mahila Congress workers protested against the price hike asking the government to roll back fuel price hike immediately.
As a part of the party’s campaign, the Mahila Congress workers asked the government to cut taxes and lower the burden on the consumers during the time of the coronavirus when people are already suffering economically.
Speaking on the occasion, Indu Pawar said that the government was insensitive towards the people’s problems as it increased the fuel prices manifold during the last couple of months.
She accused the Narendra Modi-led NDA government of stealing money from the common people to give it to their “rich friends”. She also asked the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) to explain why they are not able to reduce the LPG Cylinder, Petrol and Diesel prices in the country.
“Earlier in international market, the price was USD 140 per barrel, now it is USD 70 per barrel. So lakhs of crores of money is being saved by the government. Where is the money going?” Mahila Congress president asked.
“Why are you not saying to people that you don’t want to put GST on petrol and diesel? You want to take away money from common man and want to give it to your five or ten industrialist friends,” she said before the protesting party workers.
