LS speaker upset over unruly behaviour of Opposition

New Delhi: Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, expressing displeasure over some of the opposition members throwing papers at him on Wednesday, said such an incident is against parliamentary democracy. He urged the members to find a solution together and to maintain the dignity of the Parliament. What is not in accordance with parliamentary tradition should not be repeated he said, while warning of strict action otherwise.
The leader of Congress in LS Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury alleged that the Government was not allowing the Opposition to express their views in the House. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi asked Mr Chowdhury to speak on Wednesday’s incident.
