LG invites heads of all political parties in J&K Wednesday

Srinagar: In a bid to reach out to the political leaders, Lieutenant-Governor Manoj Sinha has invited heads of all mainstream political parties in Jammu and Kashmir to Raj-Bhawan in Srinagar, sources said.
The top leaders have been invited for high tea at 6 pm on Wednesday to the Raj Bhawan, they said.
Those who have been invited to the meeting include National Conference president Farooq Abdullah, PDP president Mehbooba Mufti, BJP J&K president Ravinder Raina, People’s Conference chairman Sajad Lone, Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari, CPI(M) leader Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, JKPCC president G A Mir, PDF president Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen and several others.
Sources said the meeting has been called to discuss the overall situation.
The invitation comes a day before annual Amarnath pilgrimage to the holy Cave shrine begins
A PDP leader termed it a mockery that for a serious meeting the invitation was sent in the morning.
“For a meeting in the evening that is supposed to be a serious affair, the invitation is sent in the morning. What a mockery!,” PDP chief spokesperson Suhail Bukahri said in a tweet. “ By the way what happened to the outcome of the all parties meeting chaired by @PMOIndia in which @OfficeOfLGJandK and @HMOIndia was also present?”
There has been a total communication breakdown between the UT government and the major political parties in J&K especially after J&K’s special status was scrapped in 2019. The J&K Government and Union government has often accused regional parties as obstacles in peace and development.
