Land dispute: Six arrested for assaulting teenage girl in Budgam

Srinagar: J&K Police have arrested six persons for allegedly assaulting a teenage girl leaving her critically wounded in Jammu and Kashmir’s Budgam district.
The incident is reported to have been occurred due to a land dispute. Police said a scuffle broke out between two families over construction of an interior road at Bon Makhama Magam on Tuesday evening.
“During the incident, the 17-year-old girl was hit on the head with some blunt object causing injuries to her. The injured was shifted to Sub District Hospital Magam and later referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar where her condition is stated to be not well,” a police spokesman said. Police said a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police station Magam and investigation taken up. “So far six accused persons have been arrested in the case and investigation is going on,” he said, adding more arrests are expected.
