KU postpones offline exams till May 2, campus to remain closed till Wed

Srinagar: The Kashmir University (KU) has postponed all the offline examinations scheduled to be held till May 2 while the main campus will remain closed till Wednesday in view of the unabated rise in COVID-19 cases in the valley.
An official said that the decision to postpone all offline examinations, including for Under Graduation and Post Graduation levels, was taken during a high-level online meeting of the KU’s advisory committee.
However, he said the online classes, as already notified, shall continue to be held by the teaching departments.
The University was closed on Friday after several COVID-19 positive cases were reported from teaching departments and the administration. “The decision to close the campus till April 28 was taken to break the chain,” he added.
KU Vice-Chancellor (VC) Prof Talat Ahmad was on Thursday admitted to SK Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) few days after testing positive for COVID-19.
