Kishtwar killings, weapon snatching cases solved, three Hizb terrorists arrested: Jammu IGP

Jammu: Inspector General of Police Jammu Zone Mukesh Singh on Monday said that the Kishtwar killings and weapon snatching cases have been solved and three terrorists of Hizbul Mujaheedin have also been arrested.
“In pursuance to a focused effort carried out by SSP Kishtwar, the CRPF, Army and NIA team, to solve Kishtwar killings and weapon snatching, we have been able to arrest three persons involved in these cases,” Mr Singh here said in a press conference.
He said that the conspiracy was initially hatched in 2016-2017 between Mohammad Amin alias Jahangir Saroori, Osama, Nissar Ahmed Sheikh and others to revive militancy in the Chenab valley under the banner of Hizbul Mujahidin.
“In furtherance to the conspiracy, terrorist commander Jahangir Saroori, Osama Haroon, Zahid and Nissar Ahmed Sheikh planned to kill Anil Parihar, senior BJP leader of Kishtwar in Oct. 2018,” he added.
He further said that it has been found during initial investigation that in all the four incidents i.e, killing of Anil Parihar, weapon snatching of PSO to Dy Commissioner, Chanderkant Sharma killing and weapon snatching of PSO to Adv Sheikh Nasir District President PDP, these persons namely Nissar Ahmed Sheikh provided logistic and facilitated movement of terrorists, Rustam (absconding) constructed hideout in the house of Nishad Ahmed and Azad Hussain whereas the terrorist acts of targeted killing were carried out by Osama, Haroon and Zahid.
“One more terrorist alias Moin-ul-Islam belonging to Kashmir valley was also a part of action during weapon snatching of PSO to Sheikh Nasir as well as killing of Chanderkant Sharma and his PSO,” he added.
The IGP further said, “we are continuously putting in effort to track down the terrorists involved in the case and the other over ground workers,” and added, “we are also questioning many other suspects regarding the possible involvement in these cases.”
Mr Singh also extended thanks to the CRPF, Army, NIA and others for their relentless efforts alongside Kishtwar Police.
