Key JKFA members resign from posts

JAMMU: Jammu and Kashmir Football Association (JKFA) has come under tremendous pressure after its seven important members, holding key positions, tendered their resignation.
The members cited the JKFA’s failure in developing the game on professional lines as also the lack of transparency in function as the main reasons for the extreme step.
Those resigned from JKFA included sports administrator and Chairman Sports Board J&K Bank and former national footballer, Abdul Hamid Banday (executive member); former secretary J&K Bank Sports Board, Showkat A Khanyari (chairman Disciplinary Committee); former international footballer, Ramesh Chander (vice president and joint secretary Jammu); international football Coach, Sajid Dar (vice chairman (K) Technical Committee); star international player from J&K, Arun Malhotra (vice chairman (J) Technical Committee); sports management professional, Majid Yousuf (joint secretary Kashmir) and sports promoter and columnist, Asif Maqbool (executive member).
“Continuing with the resentments against the poor functioning of JKFA, majority of the registered Clubs in J&K, especially in Srinagar and Jammu, have lost their faith and have raised voice against few incompetent persons who are sitting on the chair for their own interests rather than working for football and are hell bent to step down despite being elected unconstitutionally,” one of the JKFA members, who tendered his resignation said.
He further said that since the elections held last year in 2018, not even a single meeting of executive committee has been called and all the decisions were been taken by one or two persons individually.
“More people are expected to tender their resignation in coming days due to the poor management and organisation of JKFA which has lost the glory of football, which once used to be the most loved and played sport in J&K,” said A H Banday.
Important to mention here that previously national and international footballers delegation of J&K (NIFDJK) comprising the likes of MehrajUd Din Wadoo, Ishfaq Ahmed, Hilal Parray (ProLicense Coach), Manzoor Dar (A License Coach), Intikhab Alam (B License Coach), Ajaz Ahmed ( Coach Real Kashmir), Zahoor Haroon, Muzamil Mahmoud (AFC B License Coach) among others have strongly spoken against the poor and unconstitutional functioning of JKFA.
