J&K: Active associate of HM arrested with Chinese grenade in Kishtwar

Jammu,  The Jammu and Kashmir Police along with Army and Paramilitary troops on Friday arrested one active associate of Hizbul Mujaheedin with Chinese grenade in Kishtwar district.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Kishtwar, Khalil Poswal said that one most active associate of HM outfit was arrested from Cherji in Kishtwar.

“Acting on inputs received about the involvement of one Mohammad Yousaf Chouhan of Chhar Cherji, District Kishtwar in terror related activities and case was registered and investigation started,” said the officer.

He stated that teams of Police alongwith Army and CRPF were deputed and they arrested the accused and on his disclosure, one Chinese grenade was recovered from Cherji area.

“In this regard, a major search operation has been launched in Cherji, Chicha and Padyarna area, so that active terrorists of the district are nabbed and further leads into the case are developed,” he added.

The officer said that the youth in the district have been warned not to fall prey to the evil designs of terrorist organizations which will spoil their future.

Moreover, the populace requested to inform the Police about movement/activities of terrorists, so that immediate counter action is taken against them accordingly, he added.
