JEE Main 2019: Random Dates Allotted Instead of Slot Booking

NTA is the new exam conducting authority for JEE Main 2019 which will be allotting date, shift, and timing of slots to candidates. The exam conducting authority has brought some other changes also like the exam is being conducted twice a year now. The two sessions of the exam are scheduled in January and April. Also, the exam will be held in two shifts and eight different settings. The April session exam will be 6-20 April. The admit card of JEE Main April Session will be released on March 20.

JEE Main exam will consist of two papers. Paper 1 is exclusively for engineering aspirants only, and Paper 2 will be for architecture aspirants. Paper 1 will be conducted in both mornings as well as afternoon shifts whereas Paper 2 will be conducted in the morning shift only.

NTA Scores

NTA is going to generate a score apart from the raw score of candidates to maintain neutrality. After generating this NTA score or percentile, the All India Ranks will be decided for the candidates. NTA will make use of the unique formula to arrive at these percentile score which is as follows:

(100 * Total number of candidates who have appeared in a particular “session” with the raw score =< the candidates) ÷ (Total number of the candidates appeared in that particular ‟Session‟.)

Candidates who are appearing for both January and April sessions, their AIR or All India Rank will be generated based on the best score out of the two sessions. For those who appear in only one session, their AIR will be based on that session only.
