Jammu: Expressing concern over the long queues of vehicles at the Saror Toll Plaza resulting in large scale traffic Jams on the National Highway from Satwari to Samba, Harsh Dev Singh JKNPP Chairman and former Minister today accused the ruling BJP of indulging in politics of deception and duplicity over toll issue as well.
While in opposition it was the BJP leaders who vehemently opposed the installation of the Toll Plaza and dismantled the structure at the proposed site near Saror citing it as ‘Jazia’ imposed upon people of Jammu, reminisced Harsh Dev Singh.
And now after having formed the govt at the centre, the very same leaders were facilitating, supporting and inaugurating the toll plazas in their own vicinity, lamented Singh.
“The people have a right to question these opportunist leaders who have changed their stance with the change of guard. Their party has been given an overwhelming mandate by the people of Jammu. What for? Only to loot them in the name of multiple toll plazas.
Their govt saw the disbanding of toll plazas in Kashmir with only one such toll operational in the valley. It was however astounding to note that atleast six toll plazas had been conceptualized for Jammu and its vicinity with three such plazas already operational and the fourth one made functional from today”, lamented Harsh.
He said the govt was only testing waters in Saror to go the whole hog with installation of two more toll plazas in Jammu’s vicinity at Hiranagar and on Ring road.
All this had only exposed the double standards and deceptive politics of BJP, he rued. Further, lack of adequate space at Saror had added to traffic congestion with people trapped in Jams for hours, said Singh.
Accusing the BJP led govt of adding to the woes and miseries of common man by its bad economics and worse politics, Singh appealed to the middle class and economically backward sections to unite for overthrowing the pro rich party.
