Jammu Hospital sets up committee to identify quarantine facility for frontline staff

Jammu: In wake of the prevailing situation due to COVID-19 outbreak and its impact on frontline health workers, the Jammu based Government Medical College on Monday constituted committee to identify space for quarantining the Faculty and paramedical staff if any.
According to an official order, a committee of doctors hereby reconstituted and the members shall decide the requirement of hotel quarantine and quarantine of Faculty, Resident, PG, Technical Staff and Nursing Staff as per the guidelines issued by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India in coordination with State Epidemiologist of J&K Health Services.
An official here said that the committee is comprised of Dr Ashutosh Gupta, HoD Radiotherapy as Chairman with Dr Shashi Sudan, HoD Microbiology, Dr Dinesh Kumar, HoD P&SM, Dr A S Bhatia, HoD Biochemistry and all medical superintendents of GMC Jammu and Associated Hospitals as its members.
Dr Dinesh Kumar and Dr A S Bhatia have been advised to draw the quarantine and hotel quarantine SOP in line of advisories issued by GOl in coordination with state epidemiologist for finalisation of the SOP by the committee, sources added.
They further said that as Overall Incharge and coordinator with Estate Department Authorities, State Epidemiologist, Nodal Officer, Hotel Authorities respectively.
“The Chairman of the committee is advised to convene the meeting immediately and issue immediate directions to the concerned”, the order stated.
