New Delhi: Recording less than 30,000 cases a day for the fourth straight day, India has reported 27,176 fresh Covid-19 cases and 284 deaths in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry update on Wednesday.
The cases recorded on Tuesday were 25404, on Monday 27,254 and on Sunday 28,591.
The latest addition has pushed the cumulative case tally to 3,33,16,755, whereas the death toll has climbed to 4,43,497 according to the data.
The daily positivity rate of the infection was recorded at 1.69 per cent in the country while the active cases have remained under 3.6 lakh after declining by 11,120 cases, as per the health ministry’s bulletin.
The cumulative active caseload now stands at 3,51,087. The share of active cases now stands at 1.05 per cent of the total Covid-19 cases, the figures showed.
On the recovery front, 38,012 more people recovered from the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours making the recovery registry climb to 3,25,22,171. As per the data, the recovery rate stands at 97.62 per cent
The Ministry stated that the weekly positivity rate (2 per cent) has been under 3 per cent for 82 days now.
A total of 54,60,55,796 samples were tested up to September 14, 2021, for Covid-19. Of these, 16,10,829 samples were tested on Tuesday, according to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR).
“More than 61 lakh (61,15,690) vaccine doses have been administered on Tuesday making the country’s COVID-19 vaccination coverage reach a cumulative figure of 75.89 crore (75,89,12,277) as per provisional reports,” the Ministry said.
