India records largest single-day spike of 6,088 Covid-19 cases; tally at 1,18,447

New Delhi: India on Friday witnessed the largest single-day spike in Covid-19 cases with 6,088 fresh infections being registered in the past 24 hours, pushing the tally of infections to 1,18,447, as per the Union Health Ministry.

As many as 6,088 new cases and 148 deaths were reported over the past 24 hours, the figures revealed, adding that the total includes 66,330 active cases, 48,553 cured, discharged, or migrated patients, and 3,583 deaths.
The overall recovery rate is continuously improving and has crossed 40 per cent now. As many as 3,234 patients have been cured since yesterday taking the total number of recovery cases to 48,533.
