 1737: The First Battle of Delhi took place between the Maratha Empire and the Mughal Empire. It was part of the Later Mughal-Maratha Wars (1728-1763).
 1854: Britain and France declared the Crimea war against Russia.
 1910: Henry Fabre flew the Fabre Hydravion, the first seaplane.
 1929: Jinnah’s fourteen points – Mohammad Ali Jinnah gave his points in order to safeguard and protect the rights and interests of the Muslims.
 1930: Constantinople and Angora in Turkey renamed Istanbul and Ankara, respectively.
 1942: Rashbehari Bose founded the Indian Independence League in Tokyo.

 1998: The Param-10000 supercomputer, developed by the Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), was dedicated to the nation (India).
