Hathras case: Mayawati raises questions on state govt’s working style

Lucknow: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Monday raised a question on the working style of the Uttar Pradesh government over the Hathras gang-rape case and said that there is a rule for criminals in the state.
In two tweets over the matter, Mayawati said, “The difficulties which the victim family in UP’s is extremely sad and shameful. Hathras gang-rape case are constantly facing in getting justice are well-known, but the new facts in this regard which have come up in the court raise serious questions on the working style of the government in providing justice to the victims.”
Further, the BSP honcho said, “The UP government is again in the dock after the Honourable High Court took cognizance of the new facts in the Hathras case and ordered an investigation into witnesses being threatened and the people are forced to think how the victims will get justice? Is this common belief, that criminals rule in UP and it is very difficult to get justice, wrong?”
