GGM Science College celebrates World Wildlife Day 2022

JAMMU: Wildlife/Nature Club in collaboration with Department of Zoology of GGM Science College, Jammu organized one day webinar on the eve of World Wildlife Day under the patronage of Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo.
The webinar started with the welcome address by Dr. Shakha Sharma who introduced the resource person to the audience and threw light on the importance of wildlife. On the occasion the invited speaker was a renowned environmentalist and a wildlife scholar Dr. Muzaffar A Kichloo, Assistant Professor at GDC Banihal, who delivered a talk on the ‘Status and Distribution of Mountain Ungulates and their Predators in J&K’. He gave comprehensive insight into the importance of ungulate surveys, both in terms of research and conservation and in maintaining ecosystems by influencing vegetation structure and nutrient cycling.
Dr. Ravender Tickoo, worthy Principal appreciated the efforts being put by all the organizing Committee members and Dr. Anil K Verma, Head Department of Zoology urged the participants to imbibe research temperament among themselves and work for the conservation of wild fauna and Flora.
The webinar ended with vote of thanks by Dr. Rahul Kait. Question Answer Session was hosted by Prof. Rubeena Kouser and Dr Narinder Kumar and Dr Gurpreet Kaur assisted in conducting the Webinar.
More than 100 students, faculties from different colleges of J&K UT participated actively in the webinar.
