Job hunting is an activity that a lot of us would just avoid as long as possible. We are aware that in today’s world having a job is a necessity of life. We always change our minds and we may make wrong choices of the job that we hold which may lead us to the wrong direction in life. The resource person further added that parents and teachers play a very prominent and pivotal role in shaping the career of the child as they know the capabilities, interest, skills and efficiency of the child and they should work together so that the child flourishes as per his/her taste, talent, potential and preferences.
He highlighted the importance and necessity of such career awareness programmes for the students. He encouraged the students to become job creators rather than job seekers. The extension lecture concluded with clarification, vibrant interaction and answering of the queries of the participants.
Dr. Sangeeta Sudan, Principal of the College exhorted that Career planning is a lifelong process which includes getting a job, working on our skills, finding out our expectations from life and retrying. She further added that the first thing about career planning is finding out our skills. People have a lot of skills that they don’t know about.
