GDC Kathua NSS units celebrate International Girl Child Day

JAMMU: NSS units of GDC Kathua celebrated International Girl Child Day on Sunday. As in this year Covid-19 pandemic is on its peak hence SOPs were adhered to units also decided to avoid social gatherings in the college premises and have been doing activities continuously since lockdown period in their respective localities.
Volunteers made poster on this day on the theme Beti Bachao Beti Padao, Say No to dowry, Stop Girl Child Foeticide, Stop Eve teasing, Stop sex abuses, Stop gang rape and acid attacks.
Insecurity to girl child was the main theme of the volunteers on this day. Volunteers strongly appealed for providing security to girl child and also made appeal to the government to impart moral education in society especially for boys at their early stage of life.
They also raised their voice for 50% political reservation in favour of women and
conducted door to door campaign in their respective localities regarding above mentioned evils prevalent in the society.
The event was organised under the supervision of College Principal, Prof Assa Ram Sharma and NSS Programme officers, Prof Manmohan Singh, Prof Ritu Kumar Sharma and Prof Neha Bandral.
