Fresh Covid-19 cases, deaths decline

New Delhi: Marking a 3.6 per cent decline in the number of fresh cases, India has logged 38,667 new Covid-19 cases and 478 deaths in the last 24 hours, which was marginally lower than the fatalities on Friday.
With this, the cumulative tally of cases rose to 3,21,56,493 while fresh fatalities pushed up the death toll to 4,30,732.
The daily test positivity rate was at 1.73 per cent, at less than 3 per cent for the last 19 days.
A Union Health Ministry update on Saturday said the current active caseload was 3,87,673 and that the recovery rate 97.45%.
According to the Ministry, nearly 63,80,937 vaccine doses were administered in the last 24 hours.
With 20,452 fresh cases, Kerala leads the states in the largest number of Covid cases in a single day.
The state also reported 114 deaths, the highest in any state after Maharashtra.
