Four JeM associates arrested, explosive material recovered in Pulwama

Srinagar: Police on Tuesday arrested four Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) associates and recovered explosive material, besides ammunition in south Kashmir district of Pulwama.

A Police Spokesperson said here that following specific information, four persons associated with JeM were arrested during different raids in Awantipora.
”The accused were identified as Shabir Ahmad Parray, Sheeraz Ahmad Dar, Shafat Ahmad Mir and Ishfaq Ahmad Shah, residents of Bathen area of Khrew,” he said.

The militant associates were involved in providing shelter, logistics and other kind of support to the active JeM militants operating in the areas of Khrew and forest areas of Tral.
”Incriminating material, including explosive material and ammunition, were recovered on their disclosure in Bathen area,” he added.

He said a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Khrew.
”Further investigation in the case is in progress,” he said, adding that more arrests could happen in the coming days.
