Dogra employees stage Umbrella protest, demand transfer at Jammu

Jammu:Dogra employees stage Umbrella protest: The Dogra employees who serve in Kashmir reiterated the demand of transfer at Jammu division on Tuesday.
Holding a national flag and umbrellas into their hands, hundreds of Dogra employees under the banner of ‘All Jammu-based reserved categories employees association’ assembled at Press Club Jammu to demand transfer at Jammu division in their respective districts.
Raising slogans ‘give us justice’, ‘Rajni Bala Amar Rahay’, ‘Rahul Bhat Amar Rahey’, ‘Satish Kumar Amar Rahey’, they refused to join their duties in Kashmir due to chain of target killings of minorities.
While talking to media, the protesting Dogra employees said, “We feel unsafe at Kashmir due to target killing. For the last 15 years we have been serving there but now we demand transfer at Jammu division into our respected districts.”
The minorities are not safe in Kashmir due to target killings. Either it is Dogra Hindu, Kashmiri Pandits or minorities from rest of the India all are unsafe and insecure in Kashmir. Government have been proven fail to protect them in Kashmir valley, one of the women employees said.
“It is the Government duty to provide the safety and security to minorities employees in Kashmir and moreover that if Government cannot provide security then they should transfer us at Jammu because we cannot serve with the fear of death,” one of the employees said.
While alleging the Government and administration, Ramesh who led the protest said, “At one side Government is busy in rejecting our demand of transfer at Jammu division and other hand administration is leaving no stone unturned to depress our genuine demand of life security and safety as they do not allow us to stage a peaceful protest at Panama Chowk near Dr B R Ambedkar statue.”
It is almost impossible to sit under open air at the temperature of 44 plus degree and moreover that an act of administration where they do not allow us to put a tent here for a peaceful protest shows that government and administration hardly care about us, Ramesh said.
“By staging a umbrella protest we want to convey the message to administration that we will not stop to raise our genuine demand of transfer at Jammu division. We would like to die at Jammu rather than Kashmir,” women employee said.
